How it works:

The easiest way to understand E-Mapping is to examine a working example.

Within our E-Parking system the portable sends the GPS location every 30 seconds via AJAX to the E-Mapping server where it records the device id, date time, longitude and latitude.

Then at the back office staff can pin point and fence each car park. This enables the mobile device to download the locations list at the start of the day so that the device can automatucally tell the operator that they are at  designated site.

Having collected the GPS readings office staff can then look the current location of  a device or team using the device and be able to see the route taken.

The advantage to the parking company is the when their client query the companies attendance at a site the audit log will show the exact time operatatives were patrolling the clients site.

E-Mapping offers two functional areas, the first is the mobile side which provides a set of API's for mobile applications to use when recording their current location or looking up pinned location lists and the second is the visual mapping features like routes.
